‘Your Honor, Your Honor’ Golf Simulation Barn (Version 1)

Type: Interior Remodel (Residential)

Summary: I created a concept model and visualization for my good friend and avid golfer in McMinnville Oregon.  The idea was to create a product testing center within his existing barn. Beyond this, there would be the desire to have a lot of fun. He wanted to create space where he and his friends could hit, spend time together, enjoy libations, and take their minds off what is often inclement weather in this part of Oregon.

Specific programatic aspects include:

• Bar and Kitchen: full bar and kitchen for events and general enjoyment

• Equipment Storage: Important aspect as much golf and ancillary equipment would be used and tested, as well as his golf merchandise

• Golf Simulators, Putting and Hitting Area - The area for golf simulation doubles as a large putting green when the simulation nets are pulled.

• ‘Eagles Nest’ - Loft area for lounging and entertainment

Theme: there was the wish to add whimsey and fun - to make the indoor barn feel more like a magical outdoor area - a bit surrealist and imaginative. The sets for the wizard of Oz inspired me to create something that felt like a field of poppies, a simulated forest of tall trees, and something more than a generic putting green and golf simulator.
